Nearly twenty-five thousand homes in southeastern Queensland found themselves lacking electricity on Monday morning after severe thunderstorms passed over the area, generating strong winds reaching 109km/h.
Substantial Hailstones and Broad Destruction
Locals observed large ice chunks reaching sizes of 7cm in some areas. Weather authorities announced that multiple regions across the state had been impacted by substantial ice precipitation.

Emergency crews were focused on reestablishing energy supply throughout the damaged zones, with dozens of response units working to manage the numerous electricity disruptions.
Victoria's Climate Difficulties
Simultaneously, around 1,000 households in Victoria also faced power outages after the capital city saw its most precipitation in a year and a half.
State Emergency Services handled 598 calls for help across the area, mainly for structural issues but also for fallen timber and flooding.

During the peak on Sunday, in excess of 28k power users in the state were lacking electricity.
Weather Forecast
Humid circumstances were predicted to continue along much of the state's eastern regions this coming days as a low-pressure trough continued to attract humidity against the coastal areas.
The following day was predicted as the heaviest precipitation period, with persistent severe weather risk predicted across multiple regions of both regions.
Safety Concern
Health officials alerted that there was an increased chance of epidemic thunderstorm asthma across the state's northern country region, specifically given the current weather patterns.
