President Trump Invites Relatives of Shot National Guard Personnel to the Presidential Residence

President Trump revealed on Sunday that he has invited the relatives of a Guard member killed last week to come to the presidential home.

He mentioned that he spoke to her parents and they were “heartbroken”.

Background on the Heartbreaking Shooting

US army specialist Beckstrom, 20, was killed in a shooting on last Wednesday in the nation's capital.

Her fellow service member, Andrew Wolfe, 24, continues receiving treatment in grave state.

Memorials across West Virginia have been held in their remembrance.

Presidential Invitation

The president stated he’s proposed a visit to the White House for the families of both members of the West Virginia Guard.

“I stated: ‘When you’re prepared, because that’s a tough thing, come to the White House. We’re going to pay tribute to her,” the president informed journalists. “And in the same way with Andrew, recover or not.”

Public Support

Mourners assembled over the weekend at the high school in the state to pay respects to Sarah.

Both she and Wolfe had been working with the West Virginia National Guard as part of Trump’s national effort to aid policing efforts in DC.

Honoring Sarah Beckstrom

“She was the kind of student that teachers hoped for. She conducted herself with inner fortitude, a contagious smile and a optimistic attitude that encouraged those around her,” the principal, the principal of her alma mater, informed the media. “She was caring, caring and always willing to support those in need.”

Funeral plans for Sarah are in the process of planning.

Legal Actions and Government Revisions

Law enforcement have accused a twenty-nine-year-old suspect with a charge of murder and two counts of assault with intent to kill while carrying a weapon.

The event led the government to pause asylum applications and cease granting entry permits to owners of Afghan passports.

Status of the Airman

Andrew Wolfe, a native of Martinsburg, enlisted in 2019 and is a graduate of his local high school, as reported by the news agency.

He continues to receive treatment and is “battling to survive”, the state’s leader Patrick Morrisey stated on Fox News Channel’s The Sunday Briefing.

Attorney general Pam Bondi told Fox News Sunday that she also intended to visit the family.

Memory of the Fallen Soldier

Sarah, from her hometown, completed her education from Webster County high school in 2023 and enlisted soon after, serving as a law enforcement officer with distinction, per the state guard.

“She had a lot of goodness and she absolutely had courage,” the governor informed the gathering at the service. “Though her life ended too soon, she has left a mark that’s going to be remembered always.”
